Hon.Dr.Makali Mulu,CBS 

MP KITUI CENTRAL CONSTITUENCY.

Dr. Makali Mulu,CBS is the Member of Parliament for Kitui Central Constituency since 2013 to date in the Kenyan National Assembly.He is a distinguished economist, legislator, and development practitioner with over three decades of professional experience in public finance, economic policy, governance, strategic planning, budgeting, monitoring and evaluation, statistics, and project management. His goal as a Member of Parliament is to spearhead the implementation of the constitution, promote good governance and upholding of human rights for sustained economic growth in Kenya as per Vision 2030. Throughout his parliamentary service, he has championed prudent public financial management, accountability in government expenditure, evidence-based policymaking, and sustainable development initiatives. A respected voice in fiscal policy and public finance, Hon. Dr. Makali Mulu has served in several influential parliamentary committees. He has been a member of the Budget and Appropriations Committee,Member of Departmental Committee on Finance & Planning, member of a selection Committee the House Business Committee, and the Administration and National Security Committee. He currently serves as a member of the Budget and Appropriations Committee and the Regional Integration Committee, and previously served as Vice-Chairperson of the Public Debt Committee. His contributions have played a critical role in shaping Kenya’s national budgeting process and strengthening parliamentary oversight of public resources.

Beyond Parliament, Hon. Dr. Makali Mulu has represented Kenya in the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA), serving as a CPA Branch Representative and a member of the Programme and Finance Sub-Committee of the CPA Africa Executive Committee. Hon.Dr.Makali Mulu,CBS served as the Senior CPA Regional Representative for East Africa, contributing to the advancement of parliamentary democracy, good governance, and regional cooperation.Hon. Dr. Makali Mulu Vision for kitui central constituency is to transform Kitui Constituency into a vibrant community that participates in governance and decision making; exploits its existing abundant resources, offering equal opportunities for all, and enabling the community to meet its basic daily needs: enough food, good shelter, quality education and access to affordable health care.
Hon. Dr. Makali Mulu,CBS has over 27 years of working experience in Budgeting ,Governance, Human right issues, Strategic planning, Economics, Statistics, project management, and Evaluation and Monitoring . He also has wide experience in the application of Economics, Budgeting and statistics. Hon Dr. Makali Mulu holds degree in economics from University of Nairobi. He has MSc. in Economics and PhD in Economics. Prior to his election as a Member of Parliament, he was Independent Consultant (Monitoring & Evaluation, General Programme/Project Management. He possess vast knowledge in Economics, Budgeting, Evaluation and Monitoring. Apart from being consultant, Dr. Makali has also worked as Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist in Governance, Justice, Law and Order Reform Programme (GJLOS). GJLOS Its main goal is to better governance, justice, law and order in the country .He has also consulted with numerous organizations including UN agencies and World Bank.Under Hon.Dr.Makali Mulu,CBS leadership, Kitui Central Constituency has witnessed significant investments in education, infrastructure, water development, youth empowerment, and community-based development initiatives aimed at improving the quality of life of its people.
